Naloxone is a drug which can temporarily reverse the effects of opioid (heroin/methadone) overdose. In an overdose state, it can be a lifesaver.

Over the past two years North Ayrshire has offered a range of
naloxone and Overdose awareness training to staff, clients and their families.

Staff across North Ayrshire continue to promote the benefits of naloxone and encourage individuals who may be at risk of accidental overdose and their families attend training and receive naloxone kits which they can use in an emergency.
